12. Do you pay covered employees at so-much-per-week or on the basis of so-much-per- hour-per-week?
Covered employees may be paid hourly, daily rates, by salary, or piece rate or some combination of these methods. Overtime must be calculated at time-and-one-half the regular rate of pay which is usually the average hourly rate for the week. The investigator will determine the hourly rate by dividing the total hours worked per week into the total wages for the week.
Then they will re-figure the wages as follows:
40 times the hourly rate plus time-and-a-half for all hours worked in excess of 40 hours.
